John was born and raised in North Seattle and  attended Roosevelt High School. He lives and works in the northend of Seattle. His office is located in the Wedgwood neighborhood in northeast Seattle, not far from the University of Washington. His practice has included both business transactions and litigation. He has been a Board member of fourteen profit and not-for-profit organizations.

Since 2000, John has had a solo law practice with an experienced staff of legal assistants.
